In preparation for the ceremony, his wife and children securely locked their Bengaluru house on the afternoon of March 31 and departed for Hyderabad by train to join him for the celebratory event.

On the morning of April 2, alert neighbors observed suspicious signs indicating a possible break-in at the officer's residence. They promptly contacted Singh's wife to inform her of the concerning situation. The family, who had carefully packed their valuables—including gold and silver ornaments—in a box stored under a cot before leaving, returned to Bengaluru the same evening by flight. Upon arrival, they were met with a harrowing sight: both the main entrance door and the bedroom door had been forcibly broken open.
Household items were strewn across various rooms, suggesting that the intruders conducted a thorough and meticulous search of the premises. This disarray pointed to a deliberate attempt to locate and seize valuable possessions.
Stolen Items and Legal Action Taken
The family quickly assessed the damage and discovered that several precious items were missing. The stolen valuables included gold ornaments such as two lockets, two pairs of earrings, and a chain, along with approximately 500 grams of silver articles.
