Ajmer Girl's Suicide: Phone Threats, Pocso Case Preceded Death

Ajmer Girl Dies by Suicide After Receiving Threats Over Father's Pocso Case

A 16-year-old minor girl in Ajmer died by suicide on Tuesday. She hanged herself in her room. The tragedy followed a series of intimidating phone calls she received. These calls related directly to a case her father had filed just days earlier.

Father Filed Pocso Case After Alleged Attack

Police confirmed the girl's father registered a case against four persons. He alleged offences against his daughter under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act. This is commonly known as the Pocso Act. The case dates back to January 8th.

On that day, the girl and her father were allegedly attacked and beaten by a group of youths. The father claims these youths had been threatening his daughter on the phone. They were demanding to see her. During this incident, the father alleges his daughter's clothes were torn off.

This led him to file the formal Pocso case at Alwar Gate police station on January 9th. Authorities arrested all four accused individuals soon after the filing. They remained in police custody at the time of the girl's suicide.

Threatening Calls Continued, Suicide Note Found

The girl's father told police she received multiple threatening phone calls after the case was filed. Callers warned her of dire consequences if the case against the four accused was not dropped. According to the father, she received another threatening call from a friend just before going to bed on Monday night.

Early Tuesday morning, the family discovered the tragic scene. They broke open the door to her room after failing to get an answer. They found the girl's body hanging from the ceiling.

Police officers recovered a suicide note from the scene of the incident. They have not revealed the contents of this note publicly. The body was later sent to JLN Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police Investigation Underway

Local police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the suicide. They are examining the phone call records and the recovered suicide note. The case highlights the severe pressure and intimidation the young victim faced.

The community in Ajmer is shaken by this event. It raises serious questions about witness protection and support for families involved in sensitive legal cases like those under the Pocso Act.
