Woman from Andhra Pradesh Accuses Rohtak Man of Fraud and Sexual Exploitation

A woman from Andhra Pradesh has come forward with serious allegations against a man from Tilak Nagar in Rohtak, accusing him of sexually exploiting her under the false pretense of marriage and defrauding her of nearly Rs 40 lakh. The case has drawn attention to issues of trust and deception in online relationships, with police investigations now underway.

Details of the Alleged Fraud and Exploitation

According to the woman, she first connected with the Rohtak-based man through a matrimonial website in 2022. Over the next six to seven months, they maintained regular phone contact, during which the accused gradually built her trust. In 2023, the man traveled to Andhra Pradesh, where he performed a symbolic marriage ceremony at a seashore by taking water in his hands and declaring her his wife. When the woman insisted on proper wedding rituals, he claimed that as a strict follower of Arya Samaj, this symbolic act was the traditional form of marriage in his community. He also refused to legally register the marriage, raising early red flags.

The woman alleges that the accused stayed with her in Andhra Pradesh for approximately four months, living as her husband. During this period, he reportedly took around Rs 40 lakh from her under the guise of constructing a house. After this, he suddenly left for Rohtak without informing her and switched off his mobile phone, leaving her in distress and confusion.

Police Involvement and Compromise Allegations

After waiting for an extended period, the woman traveled to Rohtak to locate the man and filed a formal complaint with the local police. She claims that the accused later entered into a compromise with her at a police station, but even after this agreement, he continued to sexually exploit her by taking her to hotels. The woman further alleges that the accused's brother, who serves as an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) in the Gurugram police, has been influencing the local authorities, leading to a lack of strict action in the case so far.

During one meeting at the police station, the accused reportedly admitted his mistake in front of social organizations and signed a written compromise letter. However, when the woman later requested a copy of this document from the police, she was informed that no such letter existed in the station records, adding to her suspicions of misconduct.

Official Police Response and Investigation Status

Sub-inspector Ankita, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Civil Lines police station in Rohtak, confirmed that a zero FIR has been registered in this case. The investigation has been transferred to Visakhapatnam for further proceedings, as the alleged offenses occurred across multiple jurisdictions. This move aims to ensure a thorough and unbiased inquiry into the serious allegations of fraud and sexual exploitation.

The case highlights broader concerns about online safety and the vulnerabilities individuals may face in digital matchmaking scenarios. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and verify credentials when engaging in relationships initiated through online platforms.
