Fatal Collision on Old Delhi Road
An assistant engineer was killed after his motorcycle was struck by a speeding Scorpio near Bank Market on Old Delhi Road in Gurugram. The incident occurred early Friday morning, and police have registered a case at the Sector 14 police station. Both vehicles have been taken into custody.
Victim Identified as Yogendra Mishra
The deceased has been identified as Yogendra Mishra, a 24-year-old resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. He had been living in Gurugram for nearly three years and worked as an assistant engineer at Munjal Showa Limited in Udyog Vihar.
Details from the Complaint
According to the complaint filed by the victim's father, Suresh Chandra Mishra, Yogendra reported for duty at 4 pm on Thursday and was returning to his room on his motorcycle after finishing his shift around 12:40 am on Friday. As he reached the vicinity of Bank Market in Sector 14 on Old Delhi Road, the driver of a black Scorpio collided with his motorcycle while driving at high speed and negligently. Yogendra was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police Investigation Underway
A senior police officer stated that initially, the deceased could not be identified. The body was later identified as Yogendra Mishra after his family members arrived at the police station. An FIR has been registered against the Scorpio driver, who managed to flee the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy. A further probe is underway, and police have assured that the accused driver will be arrested soon.
