In a tragic incident from Azamgarh district, the autopsy of a three-year-old boy has confirmed he was murdered. The body was exhumed from Chevarpur Puran village, revealing critical details about the case.
Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death
Madhuvan Kumar Singh, the ASP (city) of Azamgarh, stated on Friday that the post-mortem examination confirmed the boy's death resulted from an antemortem injury to the throat. This finding came after police dug up the body for further investigation.
Initial Misconception and Family's Suspicion
Initially, when the boy was found dead, his family believed he had died accidentally after coming under animal hooves. They buried the body without informing the police, thinking it was a simple accident.
However, a few days later, the victim's mother grew suspicious. She felt her son might have been murdered elsewhere before his body was dumped in a buffalo shed. She submitted an application to SP Azamgarh Anil Kumar, requesting a fair probe into the matter.
Police Action and Arrest
Devgaon police took swift action upon receiving the complaint. They registered a murder case based on the mother's named FIR against her neighbor. The accused was promptly arrested and sent to jail.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to assaulting the boy on December 13 and disposing of his body in the buffalo shed. This confession aligned with the autopsy findings.
Exhumation Process and Investigation
To conduct a thorough investigation, Devgaon police sent a report to the district magistrate seeking permission to exhume the body. After receiving the DM's order on January 14, a police team reached the riverbank burial site.
The exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the magistrate and the CO. The entire process was completed with videography to ensure transparency. Following exhumation, the body was sent for post-mortem examination, which ultimately confirmed the murder.
