A 51-year-old man died by suicide in Bhilwara on Wednesday, with his family alleging that he had been under pressure from moneylenders, police said.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as Surya Prakash Dadhich, was working as a lower division clerk at a nursing college in Jodhpur and resided in the Subhash Nagar area. He was found unconscious at R K Garden and rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Video Message Before Death
According to police, Dadhich had sent a video message to his brother-in-law shortly before the incident. In the clip, he pleaded that his family should not be harassed and claimed that those who had lent him money had already recovered several times the amount as interest. He also urged his relatives to take care of his family.
Police Investigation Underway
Subhash Nagar SHO Kailash Kumar Bishnoi said a case has been registered based on the family's complaint and an investigation is underway. He stated that the video points to possible harassment by moneylenders. "We are examining all aspects and have formed teams to look into the matter," the officer added.
Police confirmed that the postmortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family. Officials further stated that if allegations of illegal moneylending and harassment are established, strict action will be taken against those involved.
