In a shocking crime driven by alleged infidelity, a 40-year-old man in Bhilwara has been arrested for murdering his friend by deliberately crushing him under a tractor. The Bhilwara Sadar Police took the accused into custody on Monday, just two days after the brutal incident occurred on Saturday.
The Grisly Discovery and Police Investigation
According to police officials, the investigation began on Saturday after they received a tip-off about a blood-stained body lying on the roadside in Bhilwara's Indira Vihar Colony. Sadar Police Station In-Charge Kailash Kumar Bishnoi stated that forensic and other teams were immediately called to the scene to collect evidence. A scooter was found parked near the deceased individual.
The victim was identified as 45-year-old Mahendra, son of Chhitar Singh, a resident of Tilak Nagar. His body was sent to the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to his family, who had raised suspicions of foul play.
Confession and Motive Behind the Tractor Killing
Acting on a formal complaint filed by the deceased's 22-year-old son, Surendra Singh, the police registered a murder case. Under the directives of Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh, multiple police teams were formed and more than 20 people were questioned during the intensive probe.
The breakthrough came when the interrogation led the police to Rameshwar Jat, a 40-year-old man from Lakshmipura village. During questioning, Jat confessed to the crime. He admitted to running over Mahendra with a tractor, citing his motive as rage over an alleged illicit relationship between the victim and his own wife.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Rameshwar Jat was formally arrested on Monday evening by the Bhilwara Sadar Police. He now faces charges under murder and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police have confirmed that the accused's confession was a key element in cracking the case swiftly, turning the family's suspicion of foul play into a confirmed homicide investigation.
This tragic incident in Rajasthan highlights yet another case of extreme violence stemming from personal disputes and alleged relationship betrayals, ending one life and irrevocably altering many others.
