Bihar Police Arrest Man for Alleged PM Security Threat to CIA Website
In a significant security incident, the Bihar police have taken a man into custody from Araria village under the Simri police station area in Buxar district. The arrest occurred late Wednesday night following allegations that the individual sent a message to a foreign intelligence agency's website, demanding money in exchange for compromising the security of the Indian Prime Minister.
Accused Identified and Electronic Devices Seized
According to police sources, the accused has been identified as Aman Kumar. During the operation, law enforcement officials seized laptops and other electronic devices from his residence. The room where he lived has been sealed to preserve evidence, and the investigation is currently ongoing. Police are meticulously examining the confiscated devices for any digital evidence that could substantiate the allegations.
However, Aman Kumar's family has claimed they were completely unaware of his activities. His father, Ganesh Tiwari, stated that some individuals in plain clothes took his son from their home without providing any specific details or mentioning the nature of the threats involved.
Police Statement on the Alleged Hacking and Threats
Buxar Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya provided further insights into the case. "Aman is suspected to have hacked and left a message on the website of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States of America," Arya said. "In the message, Aman allegedly demanded money from the CIA and claimed he could eliminate the Indian Prime Minister in exchange. We were informed by our central agencies to probe the matter, and Aman has been taken into custody for interrogation."
Past Controversies and Current Caution
Police sources have revealed that Aman Kumar has been embroiled in controversies earlier as well. In 2022, he was arrested by a joint team of Kolkata and Buxar police in a case involving threats to hack Kolkata airport. Given that the current matter is linked to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the police are exercising considerable caution. They are refraining from sharing more information at this stage to ensure the integrity of the investigation and national security protocols.
The arrest underscores the heightened vigilance of Indian security agencies in monitoring potential threats, especially those involving foreign entities and high-profile targets. As the probe continues, authorities are likely to delve deeper into Aman Kumar's digital footprint and any possible connections to broader security concerns.
