Tragic End for Bike Thief in High-Speed Purnia Collision
A 22-year-old man involved in motorcycle theft met a fatal end on Monday when the speeding stolen bike he was riding collided with a truck on National Highway 31. The incident occurred near Kauanagar Pani Sadara in the Baisi police station area of Purnia district, resulting in instant death for the rider.
Victim Identified as Himanshu Kumar from Siwan
Police have identified the deceased as Himanshu Kumar, a resident of Siwan district. According to authorities, the motorcycle involved in the accident had been reported stolen from West Bengal. Himanshu was reportedly part of a three-member gang that was fleeing with the stolen vehicle at the time of the tragic collision.
Two Accomplices Escape, Police Launch Manhunt
While Himanshu Kumar died instantly upon impact with the truck, the two pillion riders managed to escape from the accident scene. Police officials confirmed that they have seized the stolen motorcycle and sent the victim's body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Purnia for a postmortem examination.
Authorities have launched a comprehensive search operation to locate and apprehend the two absconding accomplices. The investigation is ongoing as police work to piece together the complete sequence of events leading to the fatal collision.
