A three-year-old boy died after being electrocuted when he came into contact with live wires while playing in a shed at his house in Mangor Hill, Vasco. The victim was identified as Ankush Yadav.
Incident Details
The incident was reported at around 3:41 PM on Friday. Vasco police, who are investigating the case, said the child accidentally touched live electric wires that were entwined around a metal shed at the house. The contact caused an electric shock, and the boy fell unconscious immediately.
He was rushed to Chicalim Sub-District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police conducted an inquest panchanama on the body and later sent it to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao for further medico-legal formalities.
Legal Proceedings
A case of unnatural death has been registered under Section 194 of the BNSS. PSI Nikhil Dessai is conducting further investigations. Authorities are looking into the circumstances that led to the live wires being accessible in the shed.
