Brick-kiln worker kills son-in-law over dispute in Maval

The Talegaon-Dabhade police on Saturday arrested a 40-year-old brick-kiln worker for allegedly bludgeoning his son-in-law to death. The incident occurred on Friday at Parandwadi in Maval taluka, following a quarrel between the victim and his wife.

Details of the Incident

The victim, identified as Laxman Mukane, 30, was engaged in a heated argument with his wife over domestic issues. The accused, Santosh Waghmare, who is the wife's uncle, attempted to intervene and pacify Mukane. However, Mukane continued to abuse both his wife and Waghmare, leading to a violent reaction.

In a fit of rage, Waghmare struck Mukane with a stick, causing severe injuries. Mukane was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Legal Action

Following a complaint lodged by Mukane's wife, the police arrested Waghmare under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Both the victim and the complainant were brick-kiln workers residing in the area. The police have recorded statements from witnesses and are gathering further evidence to build the case.
