Congress Leader Fined for Illegal MLA Sticker and Beacon

Kalyan: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has imposed a fine on Congress functionary Surendra Adhav for multiple violations. Adhav was found using an illegal MLA sticker on his private car, keeping a red-and-blue beacon inside the vehicle, and not possessing a pollution under control certificate.

Incident Details

Adhav visited the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) office, where an RTO team inspected his car. Upon verification, the team discovered that the vehicle was not assigned to any Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). This prompted Assistant RTO Inspector Prashant Suryavanshi to take immediate action against Adhav.

Violations and Penalty

The RTO team identified three major violations:

  • Use of an illegal MLA sticker on a private car
  • Possession of a red-and-blue beacon light inside the vehicle
  • Lack of a valid pollution under control certificate

As per regulations, only authorized vehicles assigned to MLAs are permitted to display such stickers and beacons. The use of these without authorization is a punishable offense under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Assistant RTO Inspector Prashant Suryavanshi confirmed that a fine was levied on Adhav for the violations. Further action may include the confiscation of the illegal sticker and beacon.

This incident highlights the RTO's vigilance in enforcing traffic and vehicle regulations, ensuring that unauthorized use of official symbols is penalized.
