CRPF Constable and Wife Arrested for Brutal Child Abuse in Noida

A Central Reserve Police Force constable and his wife now face arrest for allegedly subjecting a ten-year-old girl to sustained physical abuse. Police arrested the couple on Monday from their official residence in Greater Noida. The child remains critically injured and on ventilator support in a Noida hospital.

Girl Lived as Domestic Help Without Permission

The young girl lived with constable G D Tariq Anwar and his wife Rimpa Khatun as a domestic helper. Constable Anwar serves with the 235th Battalion of the CRPF. He claimed the child was his wife's niece. However, police confirmed the girl resided with the couple on the CRPF campus without any formal permission from senior authorities. Officials stated she worked as domestic help in their home.

Severe Beating Led to Critical Injuries

A subedar major posted at the CRPF camp submitted a written complaint to police on Sunday. This complaint triggered the investigation. It stated the couple lived in quarter number thirteen of block sixty inside the Ecotech 3 CRPF campus. According to the complaint, the child routinely performed household chores including caring for other children. She also faced frequent beatings.

Investigators revealed a horrifying incident on the intervening night of January fourteenth and fifteenth. The couple brutally beat the girl, causing severe injuries. Instead of taking her to the CRPF hospital, Constable Anwar admitted her to Sarvodaya Hospital. He told doctors the child slipped and fell in a bathroom.

Medical Evidence Reveals Prolonged Abuse

Medical findings completely contradicted Anwar's claim. Doctors discovered multiple old and fresh injuries on the child's body. These included broken ribs and deep wounds to her head and chest. Signs pointed to prolonged starvation. Her haemoglobin level registered at a critically low 1.9.

The girl had dark circles under her eyes and swelling in her legs. She arrived at the hospital unconscious. Suspecting sustained physical abuse, the hospital prepared a medico-legal report and immediately alerted the authorities.

Child in Critical Condition at Max Hospital

As her condition deteriorated, doctors referred the girl to Max Hospital in Sector 128, Noida. A hospital spokesperson issued a statement. The child arrived at the emergency department on January fifteenth in a critical state. She was already on ventilator support.

"She was diagnosed with polytrauma and shock," the spokesperson said. "Suspecting possible abuse, the hospital immediately informed the police. We requested a thorough investigation into the matter. The child currently receives treatment in the hospital's paediatric intensive care unit."

CRPF Takes Action, Police Make Arrests

Senior CRPF officials took serious cognisance of the matter. They directed police to take strict action against the accused. Following a preliminary investigation and review of medical evidence, Ecotech-3 police arrested both individuals. The CRPF has suspended Constable Anwar from duty.

Police confirmed the child's medical examination is now complete. Further investigation remains underway. Authorities have informed child welfare officials about the case. Officials stated additional legal action will follow based on the final findings.
