According to police reports, the victim, identified as Sachin Kumar, is a resident of Dhabarsi village under the Adampur police station. Sachin works as a mason and was engaged in installing ceilings at an under-construction house, alongside his two brothers. On Sunday morning, when his brothers arrived to take him to another worksite, Sachin demanded unpaid wages totalling Rs 1.5 lakh from his employer.
This demand quickly escalated into a heated argument, which soon turned violent. The accused allegedly cornered Sachin on the road and subjected him to a brutal physical assault. A bystander recorded the entire incident on a mobile phone and subsequently posted the video online, where it rapidly gained traction.
Following the viral spread of the video, police swiftly registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Adampur police station. The case has been filed under multiple sections, including BNS sections 115(2), 351(2), and 352, along with Section 3(2)(Va) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, highlighting the caste-based nature of the abuse.
