Delhi: 21-Year-Old Stabbed to Death, 2 Injured in Jaitpur Clash Over Social Media Harassment
A violent clash in southeast Delhi's Jaitpur area on Thursday night left a young man dead and two others critically injured. Police confirmed the incident stemmed from a personal dispute that escalated into a deadly assault.
Details of the Fatal Incident
Police received a PCR call at 11:18 PM from Dharamshala Road in Jaitpur. A team rushed to the spot and found three injured men. They immediately shifted the victims to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
The deceased was identified as Krishna Sahu, aged 21. He suffered multiple stab injuries to his chest, shoulder, and back. Doctors at the AIIMS Trauma Centre declared him 'brought dead' upon arrival.
Two other young men, Sunny (21) and Prince (19), also sustained serious stab wounds. Sunny received injuries to his abdomen and thigh, while Prince suffered multiple stab wounds. Both are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Following the incident, police launched a thorough investigation. They analyzed CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify the perpetrators.
Authorities arrested three adults in connection with the crime. The main suspect is Deepak Kumar, aged 22. Police also arrested Aashish, a 24-year-old graphic designer, and Neeraj Kumar. Additionally, five juveniles were apprehended for their involvement in the violent clash.
Witnesses identified Aashish as one of the individuals wielding a sharp-edged weapon during the attack. Neeraj Kumar reportedly led the group to gather at the meeting point.
Root Cause: Social Media Harassment
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the clash originated from a personal dispute between two groups involving a mutual acquaintance. The conflict had been brewing for some time prior to the violent confrontation.
According to a senior police officer, Deepak Kumar had been harassing Prince on social media for an extended period. This ongoing harassment created tension between the two sides.
On Thursday, both groups agreed to meet around 11 PM under the pretext of resolving their differences. The meeting took place on Dharamshala Road in Jaitpur.
Escalation to Violence
What began as a discussion quickly turned violent. A verbal altercation broke out during the meeting, and tensions escalated rapidly.
The situation deteriorated into a physical assault, with the accused allegedly attacking the victims with knives. After inflicting serious injuries, the perpetrators fled the scene.
Police arrived shortly after receiving the emergency call and initiated their investigation. The swift response led to the identification and apprehension of suspects through CCTV analysis and witness statements.
