Delhi Woman Murders Husband Over Infidelity Suspicions, Arrested

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly strangling her husband to death with a dupatta after he accused her of having an extramarital affair. The incident took place in the Shahdara area of Delhi, officials reported on Thursday.

Arrest and Identification

The accused has been identified as Alisha, a resident of the area. Police received a PCR call at the Jagatpuri police station at approximately 3:52 am on Thursday reporting the murder. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Mustakeem, also known as Sahil, aged 20, unconscious. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Legal Proceedings

A case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered based on a complaint filed by the deceased's mother. The police launched an investigation, examining the crime scene, recording witness statements, and analyzing evidence. During interrogation, Alisha allegedly confessed to her involvement in the murder.

Motive and Confession

Alisha told police that her husband suspected her of having an extramarital affair. He took her mobile phone during the night to search for evidence. This led to a heated argument, during which Sahil allegedly assaulted her. In a fit of rage, Alisha reportedly sat on his chest and strangled him with her dupatta.

Escape and Arrest

Shortly after the incident, the mother of the deceased entered the room. Alisha fled the spot and hid in a gurdwara to evade arrest. Police later apprehended her from the gurdwara. She has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
