In a swift operation, the Harangaon police in Dewas district solved a murder case and arrested the accused within a mere six hours of discovering the victim's body in an agricultural field.
Body Discovered in Karond Khurd Village
The incident unfolded on December 20, when police received information about a man's body lying in a field in Karond Khurd village, located under the Satnagrai Tappra area. The deceased was identified as Parsaram Gond. Upon reaching the spot, a preliminary examination indicated that the victim had been killed using a sharp-edged weapon.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest
Acting promptly, a case was registered at Harangaon police station. Superintendent of Police Punit Gehlod directed the immediate arrest of the culprit. A special investigation team was formed under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Soumya Agrawal and the supervision of Sub Divisional Officer of Police Kannod, Aditya Tiwari.
The team, led by Harangaon police station in-charge Sub Inspector Abhishek Singh Sengar, activated technical surveillance and their informer network. Based on specific inputs that the accused, identified as Hanumat, was hiding in the forests near Karond Khurd Satnagrai, the police launched an intensive night search operation in the area.
Confession and Recovery of Evidence
The police successfully traced and apprehended Hanumat within six hours of registering the case. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the murder. On his disclosure, the police recovered crucial evidence, including:
- The axe believed to be used in the crime.
- The blood-stained clothes he was wearing at the time of the incident, which were seized from different locations in his field.
After completing all legal formalities, the accused was produced before the court and subsequently sent to jail.
This rapid resolution highlights the effective coordination and use of technical and human intelligence by the Dewas police force in responding to a serious crime.
