In a shocking incident of village violence, police in Dewas district have arrested two individuals for the brutal murder of a 55-year-old man in Barotha. The fatal assault, which took place in Kailod village, is believed to be the culmination of a deep-seated rivalry between the parties involved.
The Fatal Assault at Dabri Square
The tragedy unfolded at Dabri Square in Kailod village. According to the complaint filed by the victim's son, his father was mercilessly attacked with wooden sticks. The assailants inflicted severe injuries on the elderly man's limbs and body during the assault. He was rushed to a hospital but medical professionals could not save him, and he was declared dead upon arrival.
Swift Police Action and Arrests
Acting promptly on the complaint, SP Dewas Puneet Gehlod confirmed that a case was registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Barotha police station. An intensive investigation was immediately launched.
A dedicated police team was formed, and acting on a crucial tip-off, officers managed to trace the accused. They were found hiding in a shed located behind an old gravel pit. This hideout was situated on agricultural land belonging to one of the accused.
The police successfully took both individuals into custody. The accused were identified as Rajesh Patel and his 18-year-old son Rajveer, both residents of the same village. Further investigation revealed that Rajesh Patel had previous criminal cases registered against him in earlier years, adding a layer of history to the current crime.
