Police in Dumka have arrested eight individuals in connection with violent clashes that erupted over the renovation of a century-old temple. The incident occurred in Lalgarh, located within Deoghar district, on Thursday.

Miscreants opposing the renovation work at the 100-year-old Goddess Kali temple resorted to stone-pelting and physical assaults. This aggressive confrontation resulted in injuries to seven people, including three women. The violence created a tense atmosphere in the area.

Law enforcement registered a formal case at Madhupur police station based on a statement from injured victim Veli Devi. The complaint names 32 identified individuals and approximately 100 unidentified persons involved in the violence.
"Intensified raids have led to eight arrests so far," stated a senior police officer. Police teams, led by Sarath SDPO Ranjit Lakda and Madhupur SDPO Satyendra Prasad, maintained a continuous police camp at the location on Friday.
