Miscreants created a fake Facebook account of Payal MLA Manwinder Singh Giaspura and attempted a financial fraud on his ‘friends’ by seeking money in his name, citing an emergency. The MLA confirmed that a fake account was opened using his photos, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) symbol, and other information to make it appear genuine.
No One Duped Yet
According to Giaspura, none of his trusted relationships, friends, or relatives reported being duped. He urged everyone not to pay any amount sought through such means. The MLA has also asked senior functionaries in the Khanna police to investigate the matter and take legal action against the swindlers.
Police Investigation Underway
The Khanna police have been requested to probe the incident and identify the perpetrators. The MLA emphasized the need for vigilance against such phishing attempts and advised the public to verify any urgent money requests through direct communication.
