The victims have been identified as Vishwanath Jamadar, 50, a truck driver, and his son Amaresha Jamadar, 23, who worked as a cleaner, both residents of Hallikhed (B) village.

Details of the Heartbreaking Incident

The unfortunate event occurred after the duo had completed their work for the day. Vishwanath and Amaresha had traveled back from Bidar town following a delivery, having loaded their truck with cement. Upon reaching the vicinity of the Karanja dam canal, they decided to take a brief stop.

It was during this pause that tragedy struck. Amaresha descended to the canal's edge to wash his hands and feet, a routine act that turned fatal when he accidentally slipped and fell into the water. Witnessing his son in distress, Vishwanath immediately rushed to his aid without hesitation.

Despite the father's brave rescue attempt, both men were overcome by the canal's currents and drowned. The swift and tragic sequence of events left the local community in shock.
