Arrest and Legal Action

The police took them into custody and registered a case under sections 290 (public nuisance) and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunken person) of the Indian Penal Code. They were produced before a local court on Friday and released on bail.

“We received a call about a group of drunk men creating trouble. Our team reached the spot and found them in an inebriated state. They were arrested immediately,” said a police officer on condition of anonymity.

Impact and Community Response

Local residents expressed relief at the swift action. “This area is usually peaceful. Such incidents are rare but unwelcome. The police response was prompt,” said a shopkeeper in Sector 17.

The police have urged citizens to report any such incidents immediately. “Public nuisance will not be tolerated. We will take strict action against those who disturb the peace,” the officer added.
