Tragic Road Accident Claims Four Lives in Parbhani District
In a devastating incident, four young men lost their lives on the spot when the multi-utility vehicle they were traveling in collided with a bridge railing near Jintur, in Parbhani district. The tragic accident occurred around 12:10 AM on Thursday, sending shockwaves through the local community.

According to police reports, all four deceased individuals were close friends residing in Gangakhed, Parbhani. They had embarked on a pilgrimage to the sacred city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. One friend miraculously survived the crash but sustained a serious head injury and was immediately admitted to a private hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Inspector Gajendra Sarode of the Jintur police station provided crucial insights into the sequence of events. The driver of the vehicle initially fled the accident scene but voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Thursday morning. The driver also suffered injuries during the collision and is currently receiving medical care at a hospital.
Driver's Account and Road Conditions
In his statement to the police, the driver explained that a truck suddenly appeared in front of his vehicle on a narrow bridge near Akoli village. The blinding headlights of the heavy vehicle caused him to lose control of the steering wheel, leading to the fatal impact with the bridge railing.
The police have identified the deceased victims as Rohan Rathod (25), Balaji Auti (27), Balasaheb Ghorpade (29), and Krishna Ghute (26). Following the completion of postmortem procedures, all four bodies were respectfully handed over to their grieving family members by Thursday afternoon.
Changed Pilgrimage Plans and Legal Action
Inspector Sarode revealed additional details based on the survivor's account. The group of friends had originally planned to depart for Ujjain early on Thursday morning. However, in a last-minute change of plans, they decided to undertake a night journey to reach the pilgrimage town earlier than scheduled.
The Jintur police have registered a formal case against the vehicle driver under multiple charges, including BNS section 106(1) for causing death by rash or negligent acts. This legal action underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating this preventable tragedy.

In the aftermath of the accident, National Highway authorities conducted an inspection of the crash site. Inspector Sarode confirmed that the concerned road section is particularly narrow, with construction work actively underway on one side.
