Four held in Ranchi for murder over loan dispute

Police in Ranchi have made a significant breakthrough in a murder case, arresting four individuals in connection with the killing of a man over an alleged financial dispute involving a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh.

Arrests Made in Burmu Area

The Jharkhand police, acting on intelligence, apprehended the four accused from the Chhapar Barvatoli area under the Burmu police station jurisdiction on Friday. The arrests came swiftly following the incident, showcasing prompt police action.

Dispute Over Repayment Turns Deadly

The victim, identified as Ibrar Ansari, also known as Piyush, was in his late thirties. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural) Praveen Pushkar, the motive behind the brutal murder was a quarrel regarding the repayment of a sum of Rs 2,50,000.

Investigations reveal that Ibrar Ansari had lent this amount to one of the accused, Sameer Ansari, approximately six months prior to the incident. Ibrar was allegedly killed when he pressed for the return of his money.

Confessions and Recovery of Evidence

Police officials stated that all four individuals in custody have confessed to their involvement in the crime. They disclosed that after the murder, they abandoned the victim's body near the Saraidah Karamboha railway bridge.

A search operation led to the recovery of critical evidence from the accused. The police seized two pistols believed to be the weapons used in the crime, along with nine live cartridges. Furthermore, five mobile phones and a motorcycle were also confiscated during the operation.

Preliminary findings suggest that Sameer Ansari is the alleged shooter, while the other three accused assisted him in committing the offence. The Ranchi police are continuing their investigation to uncover any further details or potential accomplices.
