In a major victory for international law enforcement cooperation, the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) has successfully secured the deportation and arrested a notorious gangster from the United States. Aman Kumar, widely known as Aman Bhainswal, was brought back to India on Wednesday, marking a significant escalation in the state's crackdown on cross-border crime.
From Fugitive to Custody: The International Manhunt Ends
The operation culminated when Bhainswal landed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi. The STF team formally took him into custody immediately upon arrival, initiating a thorough investigation into his extensive criminal network. This arrest is the sixth successful extradition executed by the Haryana STF since the beginning of 2025, and notably, the second major operation conducted from the United States.
Investigations uncovered that Bhainswal, a declared offender in multiple serious cases, fled India using a fraudulently obtained passport. On June 20, 2024, he traveled to Kuwait and later managed to enter the United States using these forged documents. His criminal portfolio is extensive, with police records showing his involvement in 10 serious cases across Haryana and Delhi, including charges of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, illegal arms possession, and firing incidents.
DGP's Stern Warning to Criminals Abroad
Commenting on this high-profile capture, Haryana's Director General of Police (DGP), Ajay Singhal, issued a powerful message to criminals evading justice overseas. He asserted that the state's law enforcement net is now global. "Those who believe they can hide beyond national borders or use fake identities to escape the law are mistaken," DGP Singhal stated. "No one can escape the reach of Haryana police. Every fugitive, whether in India or abroad, will be brought to justice. Haryana is a state of law and order, not a sanctuary for criminals."
How the STF's Global Strategy Sealed His Fate
The gangster's independent criminal network spanned several districts, including Sonipat, Rohtak, and Jhajjar, extending into the National Capital Region (NCR). Once his escape was confirmed, authorities moved swiftly. A case was registered under the Indian Justice Code (IJC) and the Passport Act in Gohana. A Look-Out Circular (LOC) was issued, and an Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) was secured, officially declaring him a proclaimed offender.
A senior police officer explained the coordinated effort behind the success. "The extradition of Aman Bhainswal showcases the STF Haryana's expanded global strategy to apprehend fugitives sheltering overseas," he said. The operation relied on a triad of advanced monitoring, real-time intelligence sharing, and seamless cross-border coordination. This collaboration involved Indian authorities, Interpol, US enforcement agencies, and state police units, demonstrating how strategic trust and technology-driven surveillance can dismantle escape routes for wanted criminals.
This operation sends a clear signal that geographical boundaries are no longer a safe haven for those wanted by Haryana Police, significantly strengthening the state's framework for anti-crime enforcement on an international scale.
