Tragic Early Morning Crash Claims Life on Gurgaon's Golf Course Road
A fatal accident in the early hours of Monday claimed the life of a restaurant employee and left three others injured in Gurgaon. The incident occurred on the busy Golf Course Road when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in overturned after the driver swerved to avoid a stray animal.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The accident took place around 4 am on Monday morning. The auto-rickshaw was heading towards Delhi after picking up three employees from their workplace. According to police, a stray animal suddenly came onto the road, forcing the driver to apply sudden brakes. This abrupt maneuver caused the vehicle to lose balance and overturn.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Rawat, aged 45. A native of Roorkee in Uttarakhand, Rawat was residing in Delhi's Vasant Kunj and was returning from work at the time of the tragic crash. His two colleagues, who were also in the auto, sustained injuries.
Police Response and Investigation
Police control room received a call about the accident around 4:30 am. A team, along with crime and forensic personnel, promptly reached the spot. All four individuals, including the auto-rickshaw driver, were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Doctors at the hospital declared Sunil Rawat dead on arrival. The other three injured persons were admitted for treatment. Police later stated that the injured were discharged after their condition was found to be stable. Their statements were recorded as part of the preliminary inquiry.
"No criminal case has been registered as no complaint was received from the family," a police officer said. The officer added that inquest proceedings were conducted under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). After completing the necessary formalities, Sunil Rawat's body was handed over to his grieving family.
