Gurgaon Murder Accused Apprehended After Dramatic Gunfight

Police in Haryana have captured a murder suspect following a tense nighttime confrontation. The arrest ends a four-month manhunt for the fugitive.

Dramatic Arrest on Bypass Road

Special Task Force officers from Sonipat acted on specific intelligence. They located the wanted man near Pratap Dairy along the Sampla-Kharkhoda bypass road in Kharkhoda.

The suspect, identified as Anuj alias Doctor, immediately attempted to flee. He opened fire at the approaching police team. STF personnel returned fire in self-defense during the exchange.

Anuj sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during the confrontation. Officers successfully subdued him despite his resistance. They took him into custody at the scene.

Weapons and Criminal Background

Police confiscated a country-made pistol from the arrested individual. The firearm was a .32 bore weapon. Authorities also recovered three live cartridges from his possession.

Investigators revealed Anuj carries a significant criminal record. He faces allegations in at least ten separate cases across Rewari and Sonipat districts. His charges include:

  • Murder and attempted murder
  • Arms Act violations
  • NDPS Act offences
  • Assault and criminal intimidation
  • Cases under SC & ST Act
  • POCSO Act violations

Murder Case and Fresh Charges

The twenty-five-year-old resident of Gokalgarh was wanted for a specific homicide. Police connected him to the murder of Ankit alias Chaman from Adarsh Nagar in Rewari.

Authorities had registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They also invoked provisions of the SC & ST Act in this matter.

Following his dramatic arrest, police filed additional charges against Anuj. Kharkhoda police station in Sonipat registered a fresh case for attempted murder of police officers. This occurred on Thursday after his apprehension.

Bounty and Legal Proceedings

Haryana Police had announced a cash reward for information leading to Anuj's capture. The bounty amount stood at five thousand rupees.

After medical treatment for his injury, authorities transferred the accused to Sonipat police custody. He will now face further legal proceedings for his numerous alleged crimes.
