Gurgaon Deploys 5,400 Police for New Year's Eve 2025 Security & Traffic Plan
Gurgaon's Massive NYE 2025 Security: 5,400 Personnel Deployed

Ahead of the New Year's Eve 2025 celebrations, the Gurgaon Police have rolled out a massive, city-wide security and traffic management blueprint. The comprehensive plan involves the deployment of a substantial force to ensure law and order, women's safety, and the smooth flow of vehicles across the Millennium City.

Extensive Police Deployment and Strategic Checkpoints

The police administration is mobilising approximately 5,400 officers and personnel to man sensitive locations, major event venues, and key arterial roads. Security cover will be specifically provided at 22 major locations hosting official New Year events, alongside numerous other venues throughout the city.

In a multi-layered approach, uniformed personnel will be supplemented by plain-clothes officers tasked with monitoring crowds for any suspicious activities to prevent untoward incidents. For crime prevention, the police have established large-scale barricading and checking systems. This includes 10 interstate check posts and 68 internal checkpoints distributed across various police zones: 32 in East, 21 in West, 8 in South, and 7 in the Manesar Zone. Intensive checks of vehicles and identities will be conducted at all these points.

Traffic Management and Strict Parking Rules

The Gurgaon Traffic Police have formulated special arrangements to tackle expected congestion during peak celebration hours. To keep roads clear, parking on roads will be strictly prohibited, and any illegally parked vehicles will be towed away without exception.

Commuters heading to popular event venues, markets, and restaurants are strongly advised to use only the designated parking facilities. The official list includes:

  • Leisure Valley paved parking (Sector-29)
  • Leisure Valley unpaved parking opposite Westin Hotel
  • Cyber Hub parking
  • Parking opposite and behind KOD (Sector-29)
  • Parking opposite the Uber office (Sector-29)
  • HUDA Gymkhana parking
  • Machan parking
  • HUDA Ground parking
  • Sector-29 taxi parking

Crackdown on Drunken Driving and Venue Responsibility

A major focus this year is on curbing drunken driving. Special police teams will be stationed across Gurgaon to conduct checks. Authorities have reiterated that driving under the influence will invite stringent action under the amended Motor Vehicles Act, including a fine of Rs 10,000 and a three-month suspension of the driving licence.

In a significant move, the police have issued notices to all pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants, and hotels under Section 168 of the BNSS. The management of these establishments has been directed not to allow intoxicated patrons to drive. The responsibility for arranging safe transportation for such individuals rests solely with the venue management. Non-compliance with this directive may result in legal action against the establishment.

For emergency response, the police have pre-positioned counter-assault teams, bomb disposal squads, ambulances, and fire brigade units at strategic locations for rapid deployment. The Gurgaon Police have appealed to all residents to celebrate responsibly by avoiding drunken driving, adhering to traffic advisories, and maintaining public order. For any assistance, citizens can contact the emergency number 112 or the Gurgaon Traffic Police helpline at 1095.
