Haridwar Schoolteacher Faces Pocso Case for Alleged Assault on 8-Year-Old Student
In a disturbing incident from Roorkee, a schoolteacher has been formally charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy. The case, registered under the jurisdiction of the Jhabreda police station in Haridwar district, has sent shockwaves through the local community.

The alleged assault came to light on Friday when the young student, who is enrolled in Class I at a village school, bravely recounted the traumatic experience to his family members. According to police reports, the child described inappropriate behavior by his teacher, prompting immediate concern from his relatives.
The family first approached the school management to lodge a formal complaint, which led to heightened tensions on the school campus. Witnesses reported heated arguments between the child's family members and school authorities as the situation escalated.

Following the unsatisfactory response from school officials, the family turned to law enforcement. On Saturday, police registered a case against the 30-year-old teacher under relevant sections of the Pocso Act based on the family's detailed complaint.
