CHANDIGARH: The Special Detective Unit (SDU) of Haryana Police successfully rescued a schoolboy who was kidnapped for ransom from Baberu in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Acting swiftly, the SDU unit safely recovered the boy and handed him over to the Uttar Pradesh Police team. Haryana Police also arrested three individuals in connection with the case from Rohtak.
Incident Details
According to information shared by Uttar Pradesh Police, on May 7, a resident of Baberu, Banda, filed a complaint regarding the kidnapping of his 10-year-old son. The child was not found when the father went to pick him up from school. Police immediately registered a case against unknown individuals on charges of kidnapping the 10-year-old child and commenced an investigation.
Investigation and Rescue Operation
During the investigation, the team received a tip-off that the accused were hiding in Rohtak. Uttar Pradesh Police contacted Haryana Police for assistance. A team from Rohtak Police's Special Detective Unit (SDU), led by Inspector Naveen Jakhar, made relentless efforts to arrest the accused and recover the child safely. The team conducted a raid and successfully recovered the child from Sheela Bypass, Rohtak. In the same operation, three accused involved in the kidnapping were apprehended at the spot.
Arrested Accused
The accused have been identified as Ramji, son of Madanlal, resident of Uttar Pradesh; Sumit, son of Ramnath, resident of Sitapur, Lucknow, currently residing in Sector-4, Rohtak; and Anish, son of Jitendra, resident of village Bohar, Rohtak. The apprehended individuals were handed over to the Uttar Pradesh Police team, which is investigating the matter further.
