A tragic road accident in Visakhapatnam claimed the life of a 44-year-old head constable from the prohibition and excise department on Friday. The incident occurred near Kancharapalem when his motorcycle was struck by another speeding bike.
Details of the Accident
The deceased has been identified as Lagudu Simhachalam Naidu, a resident of Susarla colony in NAD, Visakhapatnam. He served as a head constable at the Seethammadhara excise station in the city. According to local reports, Naidu was traveling from Tatichetlapalem towards Kancharapalem when a speeding motorcycle hit his vehicle from behind. The impact of the collision proved fatal, and Naidu succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Injured Individuals
The two young men involved in the accident, Devupali Karthik and Botta Ekanth, sustained severe injuries. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical. Medical staff are providing round-the-clock care to stabilize their health.

As part of the relief measures, the government will provide a job opportunity to one of Naidu's family members. Additionally, an amount of Rs 1.1 crore through SBI insurance will be given to the family to help them cope with the financial loss.
