Hoysala police personnel in Bengaluru demonstrated quick thinking and compassion by saving a 90-year-old man who collapsed on the road. The elderly man, identified as Papanna, suffered from giddiness and fell, injuring his forehead in the AECS Layout area of Begur.
Immediate Response to Distress Call
Assistant Sub-Inspector Satish Kumar of Hoysala 214 received an urgent call around 2:30 PM on Sunday. The call reported an unconscious elderly man in the locality. The police team was patrolling nearby and reached the spot within five minutes.
They found Papanna lying on the road, barely conscious. The officers provided him with water, which helped him regain his senses gradually. He managed to tell them his name, but he had a visible injury on his forehead from the fall.
Transport to Hospital and Family Reunion
Since Papanna felt uncomfortable sitting in a police Hoysala vehicle, Constable Manjunath arranged an autorickshaw to take him to the hospital. At the medical facility, doctors examined him and noted he had lost blood. They credited the police's timely action for preventing further complications.
Meanwhile, the police team returned to AECS Layout to locate Papanna's family. They inquired with local shopkeepers, and one shopowner directed them to his house. There, they explained the situation to his son, Prakash.
Prakash rushed to the hospital immediately. After doctors gave permission, he brought his father back home safely. Medical staff advised Prakash to ensure his father avoids going out in the sun, as Papanna has a habit of taking short walks during the day.
