A 41-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with the Ashok Nagar police, reporting that her HP laptop valued at Rs 59,000 was stolen from her locked residence on Anthony Nichols Street in Bengaluru.
Incident Details
According to the woman, the theft occurred on the morning of April 24 after all family members had left the house. She had locked the door with a number lock around 10:15 am before departing for work. Approximately one hour later, her younger son returned home and discovered that the laptop, which she had purchased for her elder son's studies, was missing along with its bag. After searching the house thoroughly and failing to locate it, he immediately informed his mother.
The woman stated that she checked with all family members, including her elder son, and they all confirmed that none of them had taken the laptop. She suspects that an unknown person managed to unlock the door and steal the device.
Police Investigation
The police have registered a case under BNS Section 305 and are currently examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect. They have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Authorities are also advising residents to ensure that their homes are secured with reliable locks and to consider installing security cameras to deter such incidents.
