The accused, identified as 28-year-old Akshay Chaurapagar, allegedly killed his wife Pranita while the couple was traveling from Murtijapur towards Nagpur on March 23. According to police investigations, after committing the murder, Chaurapagar continued driving with the body in the car, uncertain of his next steps. He eventually turned back towards Chhindwara and disposed of the body from a bridge into the Pench river.
The couple's two-year-old child was present throughout the entire incident. Police stated that the child remained asleep for most of the journey and, due to their young age, was unable to comprehend what had transpired.
