Interim Relief Extended for Khan Sir

The Patna High Court on Tuesday extended the interim protection from arrest granted to 'Khan Sir', a popular educator and founder of Khan's Institute, until July 3 in connection with a firing incident at a coaching institute. The court was hearing a petition filed by Khan Sir seeking anticipatory bail in the case.

Background of the Case

The case stems from an incident on June 10, 2026, when a firing took place at a coaching institute in Patna's Rukanpura area. According to police, a group of individuals allegedly opened fire, causing panic among students and staff. Khan Sir, whose real name is Faizal Khan, was named in the FIR along with several others. The police have invoked sections related to attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, and Arms Act.

Khan Sir has denied the allegations, claiming he was being framed. His counsel argued that there was no evidence linking him to the incident. The prosecution opposed the bail plea, stating that the investigation was ongoing and that Khan Sir might influence witnesses.
