An email threat claiming that cyanide bombs would be detonated in the Kodagu district court premises at 2 pm prompted a security response on Tuesday morning. Police confirmed after a thorough search that the threat was a hoax.

Threat Received via Official Court Email

According to police, the email was sent to the official account of the Principal District and Sessions Judge at around 8.30 am. The message warned that multiple cyanide bombs had been placed in the court complex and would explode at 2 pm. Court staff immediately alerted local authorities.

Police and bomb disposal squads arrived at the scene and conducted a detailed sweep of the premises. No suspicious devices or materials were found, leading officials to classify the threat as a hoax.
