Thieves Target Kolkata Government School, Steal Cash and Cause Damage

Thieves broke into a government school in Kolkata and made off with Rs 23,000. The incident occurred at Samar Smriti Uchcha Vidyalaya, a high school located in Siddharthanagar Colony, Baguiati. Police confirmed the theft on Thursday.

Vandalism and Break-In Details

The criminals entered the school premises between 5:30 PM on January 13 and 10:00 AM on January 14. During this time, they not only stole the money but also vandalized several rooms. The headmistress, Lopamudra Lahiri, discovered the damage and theft on Thursday morning.

She immediately filed a written complaint at the Baguiati Police Station. In her report, she detailed the extent of the destruction and the missing cash.

Police Investigation Underway

Officers from Baguiati Police Station visited the school to assess the scene. They found broken almirahs in the headmistress's room and damaged lockers in the teachers' room. These items were forced open during the break-in.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this case. The police have launched a full investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits. They are reviewing evidence and following leads to solve the crime.
