What We Know So Far
The fire broke out in the early hours of June 22 at a three-storey building housing a popular coaching centre. Preliminary reports suggest an electrical short circuit may have triggered the blaze. Rescue operations were hampered by narrow lanes and lack of proper fire exits. The building lacked a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department, as per authorities.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased. He also ordered a thorough investigation and promised strict action against those responsible. The state government has directed all coaching centres to undergo fire safety audits within a month.
Community Mourns, Protests Erupt
Local residents and families of the victims have staged protests demanding justice. "We want accountability for this negligence," said a relative of one victim. The incident has reignited debates about safety standards in educational institutions across Uttar Pradesh.
