Ludhiana Tipper Truck Driver Booked for Negligent Death in Dehlon Accident
In a tragic incident in the Dehlon area of Ludhiana, police have registered a case against a tipper truck driver for causing death by negligence. The driver allegedly ran over a man, resulting in his immediate death, while another individual sustained serious injuries. The accused has been identified as Yadvinder Singh, a resident of Mallawala village in Ferozepur district.
Details of the Fatal Incident
According to statements from Ranjit Singh, the father of the deceased, he and his son Sukhbir Singh had traveled to Dehlon on a scooter. Upon arrival, they encountered an acquaintance, Pawandeep, who was in a car. Sukhbir Singh parked the scooter on the roadside and began conversing with Pawandeep. Suddenly, a speeding tipper truck, allegedly driven by Yadvinder Singh, rammed into both the parked scooter and the car.
The impact was severe, with the truck running over Sukhbir Singh, causing his death on the spot. Pawandeep Singh suffered serious injuries in the collision. Both the car and the scooter were extensively damaged in the accident.
Police Response and Legal Action
Local residents quickly gathered at the scene and alerted the authorities. Police arrived promptly and initiated an investigation into the matter. A formal case has been registered against the truck driver under charges of causing death by negligence. Following the registration of the case, Yadvinder Singh was arrested by the police.
In addition to the arrest, the tipper truck involved in the incident has been seized by law enforcement as part of the ongoing investigation. The deceased has been identified as Sukhbir Singh, a resident of Lehra village.
