Madhubani Police Cracks Robbery, Arrests 3

Swift Police Action Nabs Robbers in Madhubani

In a display of remarkable efficiency, a police team from Jaynagar in Madhubani district cracked a daring daylight robbery within hours on Monday. The operation, led by SDPO Raghav Dayal, resulted in the arrest of three out of five armed criminals and the recovery of a portion of the stolen cash.

The Daylight Heist Near Kamla Bridge

The incident unfolded when five men on a motorcycle targeted two employees of a fuel station owned by Prabhakar Jha. The employees were on their way to a bank in Jaynagar to deposit the previous day's collection from two outlets—one located at Padma under Ladania police station and another at Kamla Bari under Jaynagar. Near the Kamla bridge, the criminals intercepted them, brandished firearms, and snatched a cash amount of approximately Rs 8.5 lakh before fleeing towards the India-Nepal border.

Dramatic Chase and Recovery Across the Border

Acting promptly on the complaint, the Jaynagar police formed a special team to investigate the robbery. Tracking the movements of the suspects, the police team pursued them across the border. Within hours, the team successfully apprehended three suspects inside Nepalese territory. From their possession, the police recovered Rs 1.39 lakh of the looted money. The authorities also seized three cellphones that the fleeing robbers had discarded in an attempt to evade capture.

A manhunt is currently underway to locate and arrest the two remaining accomplices. In a strategic move to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing operation, SDPO Raghav Dayal confirmed that the identities of the arrested individuals would not be disclosed at this stage. An FIR has been officially registered at the Jaynagar police station, cementing the legal proceedings against the accused.
