Man, ex-girlfriend found dead in locked Mathura room

A 24-year-old man was found hanging and his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend dead inside a locked room in the Vrindavan area of Mathura late Friday night. Police suspect that Subhash Thakur strangled Radhika Chaudhary following a dispute before dying by suicide.

Incident Details

Neighbors spotted Subhash hanging from a ceiling fan through a window and alerted the police. DSP PP Singh said, “The woman’s body was found on the bed with visible marks on her neck. Prima facie, it appears the man strangled her to death, and later died by suicide.”

Background of the Relationship

Radhika had been living in a rented house in Panighat Colony for nearly five years and worked at a local garment shop. The couple had been in a relationship for around two years. Police said Subhash had been pressuring Radhika to marry him, which she opposed. Following a dispute, she filed an FIR against him at Jait police station on Tuesday. He was detained and later released on bail.

Investigators suspect that after his release, Subhash went to Radhika’s room on Friday night, where another argument may have occurred, leading to the incident. Inspector (crime) Dharmendra Kumar said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The woman’s brother reached the spot and confirmed the two were in a relationship.
