Tragic Suicide in Giridih Village
Police in Giridih district reported a heartbreaking incident on Monday. A 36-year-old woman and her teenage daughter died by suicide in their home. Officers from the Mufassil police station confirmed the tragic event.
Financial Pressure Leads to Extreme Step
The deceased were identified as Putul Devi and her 16-year-old daughter Sneha Kumari. They lived in Gadi Srirampur village. Family members told police that Putul had borrowed five lakh rupees from a women's self-help group. She did not inform her family about this loan.
Mounting pressure to pay the EMIs caused severe stress for Putul. Her husband Sonu Ram expressed deep sorrow. He said the family could not fully grasp the situation before the mother and daughter took the extreme step.
Police Investigation Underway
Sadar subdivisional police officer Jeetwahan Oraon provided details about the case. Police officers inspected the scene of the incident. They sent the bodies to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Oraon stated that the preliminary investigation points to suicide. Financial stress appears to be the primary reason behind this tragic decision. Police are currently recording statements from family members. A thorough investigation is now in progress.
