In Vautha village of Dholka taluka, a trivial argument over the key of a ‘Bullet’ motorcycle escalated into a fatal assault on Friday, leaving a 48-year-old man dead.
Clash Over Bike Key Turns Deadly
The victim, Ganpat Vaghela, a resident of Vejalpur, was visiting Vautha when he encountered 29-year-old Pratap Purbhiya, a native of the village currently living in Sarkhej. What began as a verbal altercation over a set of bike keys quickly turned violent.
According to police, Purbhiya allegedly grabbed a heavy wooden stick and attacked Vaghela. He did not stop after breaking the older man’s legs; he continued to strike Vaghela’s head with bone-crushing blows. The victim was left in a pool of blood and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Police Investigation and Arrest
A murder case was registered at Dholka Rural police station. The police identified and detained Purbhiya, who reportedly broke down during interrogation and confessed to the killing. He was formally arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Authorities are now piecing together the final moments leading up to the crime to understand the full sequence of events.
Residents of the sleepy village were shocked by the sudden outbreak of violence over such a minor issue. Police have urged the public to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid letting trivial matters escalate into tragedies.
