MP Tewari Seeks Probe into Paper Leaks, Exam Reforms

Chandigarh, July 4 – The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee organized a candle march at Sukhna Lake on Friday to honor students who died by suicide following repeated paper leaks in competitive examinations. The event was led by AICC Chandigarh in-charge and former MP Rajani Patil, MP Manish Tewari, and city Congress president HS Lucky.

Demand for Investigation and Reforms

Speaking at the march, MP Manish Tewari called for an impartial investigation into all paper leak cases, strict punishment for those responsible, and comprehensive reforms to ensure a transparent examination system. He stated that while India is the world’s youngest nation, its youth are among the most disappointed and insecure.

Tewari highlighted that employment opportunities continue to decline, government recruitment processes remain pending for years, and repeated paper leak incidents destroy the credibility of the entire recruitment system. He emphasized that providing justice, transparency, and timely recruitment is the government’s fundamental responsibility, but the present government has completely failed to fulfill this obligation.

Congress Leaders Express Concern

Rajani Patil remarked that the youth of the country today feel more insecure about their future than ever before. She noted that millions of students devote years of hard work to preparing for competitive examinations, but repeated paper leaks shatter their faith in the entire system. She called it not merely an administrative failure but a grave injustice to the dreams and aspirations of India’s youth.

HS Lucky added that unemployment is at an alarming level in the country. Due to policy failures, repeated paper leaks, and delays in recruitment processes, the future of the country’s youth is being destroyed. He pointed out that many students, overwhelmed by mental stress and despair, have taken the extreme step of suicide. He stressed that this is not merely a matter of statistics but a heartbreaking tragedy for the bereaved families.

Marks of Respect

Congress workers participated in the march carrying candles, banners, placards, and photographs of the students who died in the wake of paper leak incidents. At the culmination of the march, all participants observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed souls.
