Mumbai woman attacks lover with sharp weapon, police say

In a shocking incident in Mumbai, a 25-year-old mother of two has been accused of a violent attack on her 42-year-old lover, allegedly slashing his private parts with a sharp weapon. The Vakola police have registered a case against the woman, who remains at large.

Seven-Year Affair Ends in Violence

The roots of the violence trace back to a seven-year extramarital affair between the accused and the victim, who is the brother of her sister-in-law. According to police, the woman, who has two children aged four and seven, had repeatedly pressured the married man to leave his wife and family to marry her. He consistently refused, asking her to "understand the situation," especially since both had children.

The New Year's Day Attack

The confrontation reached a brutal climax in the early hours of Thursday, January 1, following New Year celebrations. The woman invited the victim to her residence in Santacruz under the pretext of sharing sweets. When he attempted to leave around 1:30 am, she allegedly attacked him with a sharp object, inflicting severe injuries to his private parts. The assault occurred while her two young children were asleep in the same room.

Bleeding profusely, the victim managed to escape and alert his son and brother, who rushed him to V N Desai Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to Sion Hospital for emergency surgery.

Hospital Confirms Surgery and Recovery

Dr. Pramod Ingale, dean of Sion Hospital, confirmed the medical response. "Our urology and general surgery teams operated on him soon after he was brought to the hospital. He is recovering right now," Dr. Ingale stated.

Police Investigation and Charges

The Vakola police revealed that tensions had been escalating. After the victim's wife discovered the affair, frequent quarrels ensued. The accused had even gone to her hometown in Bihar but returned on December 19. On December 24, the victim once again tried to reason with her about their familial responsibilities.

"Even when she was in Bihar, she would threaten him over the phone," a police officer involved in the case said.

Police have formed a special team to apprehend the accused. She has been booked under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing grievous hurt by dangerous means and for criminal intimidation.
