NCPCR Steps In on Ranchi Missing Children Case
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken swift action in a concerning case from Ranchi. On Tuesday, the commission initiated suo motu cognisance regarding two children who went missing from the Dhurwa locality of the city.
Commission Issues Direct Notice to State Police Chief
NCPCR sent a formal notice to Jharkhand's Director General of Police (DGP). The commission demanded the quick recovery of the missing children. It also directed DGP Tadasha Mishra to submit an action taken report within five days.
Sanjeev Sharma, the member secretary of NCPCR, personally spoke with Ranchi's Senior Superintendent of Police, Rakesh Ranjan. Sharma inquired about the current status of the investigation into the disappearance.
Political Leaders Show Support for Affected Family
Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, visited the family of the missing children on Monday. She expressed solidarity with the distressed parents.
Other prominent figures have also shown support. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and several BJP leaders visited the family. Their visits highlight the political attention this case has garnered.
The NCPCR's proactive approach underscores its commitment to child protection. The commission's intervention aims to ensure a thorough and speedy investigation by local authorities.
