NIA Deputy SP Ishan Mehra Dies in UP Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district claimed the life of a National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer. Ishan Mehra, 32, who served as Deputy Superintendent of Police with the NIA, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a container truck on the Delhi-Lucknow national highway. The incident occurred late Friday night, and police confirmed the details on Sunday.

Mehra, a resident of Mohali in Punjab, was posted at the NIA's Delhi office, according to a senior police officer familiar with the case. He was traveling to Bajpur in Uttarakhand with a friend when the accident took place around 11:30 pm within the Katghar police station limits.

Police reports indicate that Mehra was riding a high-performance superbike at the time of the crash. The motorcycle rammed into the rear of the container truck with such force that the vehicle was completely mangled. The severity of the collision left little chance for survival, and Mehra succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
