Nine-month-old girl found unconscious in Gorakhpur shed

Gorakhpur: A nine-month-old girl was discovered unconscious in a tin shed adjacent to an agricultural field in the Gulriha area of Gorakhpur on Saturday morning, sparking a police investigation into the circumstances.

Discovery and Rescue

According to police, farmers heading to their fields found the infant lying in the shed, located approximately 500 metres from her home, and immediately alerted authorities. The child was found injured and was rushed to a community health centre before being referred to BRD Medical College for advanced care.

Family's Search and Timeline

Family members reported that the child went missing around 2 am. Relatives and neighbours searched for the infant throughout the night but failed to locate her. At around 6 am, the family received information about the child's whereabouts.

Police Investigation

Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from nearby routes to determine how the child reached the location and whether any person was involved in the incident. SHO Gulriha, Jagdish Prasad Pal, said the infant is undergoing treatment and her condition is currently stable. He added that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the medical examination and ongoing investigation.

Police stated that all possible angles are being examined and efforts are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
