Noida RWAs Meet Police Chief, Demand Action on Crime, Vendors & Illegal PGs
Noida RWAs Meet Police Commissioner Over Law & Order Issues

A high-level delegation representing the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) held a crucial meeting with Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh to address escalating law and order concerns in the city. The meeting focused on enhancing public safety through stronger collaboration between residents and the police force.

Key Demands from Resident Welfare Associations

Leading the delegation, FONRWA President Yogendra Sharma emphasised the pivotal role RWAs play in assisting the police department. He pushed for better coordination and consistent communication between local police personnel, including Station House Officers (SHOs) and police post in-charges, with the resident associations. This, he argued, is essential for proactive crime prevention and ensuring citizen safety.

General Secretary KK Jain brought to light the persistent issue of unauthorised vendors operating in residential sectors. He stated that their unchecked presence not only causes significant traffic congestion but also creates an environment conducive to criminal activities such as theft, jeopardising resident security.

Focus on Tenant Verification and Illegal Paying Guests

The residents presented a list of specific action points for the police. A major demand was for strict checks on unauthorised paying guest (PG) accommodations proliferating in residential areas. Furthermore, they urged the police to conduct regular tenant verification drives to maintain a record of outsiders and prevent potential criminal elements from taking shelter in the city's neighbourhoods.

Police Commissioner's Assurance and Call for Cooperation

In her response, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh assured the delegation of her department's unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order in Noida. She acknowledged the vital support of RWAs, terming them the "eyes and ears" of the police force. Commissioner Singh stressed the importance of this partnership for the timely resolution of residents' grievances and effective policing.

The meeting was attended by several key FONRWA officials, including Senior Vice President Umashankar Sharma, Treasurer Pawan Yadav, Latsahab Lohia, Sanjay Chauhan, Shyam Singh Yadav, Omveer Bansal, and Koshinder Yadav.
