Luxury Car Heist in Ontario: $2 Million Worth Vehicles Stolen from Showroom

Eight luxury vehicles worth about $2 million have been stolen from the Lockwood Leasing showroom in Ontario. The entire heist was caught on camera. Eight suspects with covered faces made off with the expensive cars.

Details of the Early Morning Robbery

Police said the front window of the showroom was broken at 3:35 AM on Sunday. The suspects then accessed a lockbox containing keys to the high-end vehicles. No one was present in the showroom at that time.

The suspects used a crowbar to open the lockbox. They drove away with the vehicles one by one. The stolen cars included a Ferrari, two Porsches, three Mercedes-Benz models, and two BMWs.

Recovery Efforts and Police Investigation

No arrests have been made yet. However, police have recovered the Ferrari, one Mercedes, and one BMW somewhere in the Greater Toronto Area. The search continues for the remaining vehicles.

Police believe the theft appeared organized. This incident follows a pattern of increasing auto thefts in Ontario in recent years.

Showroom Manager Expresses Shock

"You hear about it. You see it. Then when it happens to you, it's quite surreal. It was shocking," manager Mark Kusiewicz told CP24.

He described the invasion by eight to ten individuals armed with crowbars and bolt cutters. "Thank God that it was at night and there was nobody here. Nobody was staying late or coming in early. But, who gets up at 3 o'clock in the morning to go steal cars?"

Connection to Organized Crime Rings

The Ontario Provincial Police in 2025 busted a car theft gang involved in shipping stolen vehicles to several countries. These included the UAE, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, and Lebanon.

Under Project Chickadee, which started in August 2023, about 306 stolen vehicles were recovered. Twenty people from the Greater Toronto Area were arrested in that major bust.

They collectively faced 134 charges. These included participating in a criminal organization, trafficking property, and auto theft-related charges.

Rising Auto Theft Trends in Ontario

Auto thefts have spiked significantly in Ontario. According to police data, around 17,000 vehicles were stolen in 2020. That total rose to more than 30,000 vehicles in 2023.

The recent heist highlights the ongoing challenge of organized vehicle theft in the region. Authorities continue to investigate possible connections between this incident and known criminal networks.
